We’ve repaired drywall across West County since 2007 — Chesterfield, Ballwin, Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights, Town & Country, Wildwood, Kirkwood, Ellisville. We’re based in St. Peters, a straight shot up Highway 40/64, so most of West County is about a half-hour for us.
What makes West County different is that it’s a patchwork of building eras, and each one fails differently. The inner-ring suburbs — Creve Coeur, Olivette, Kirkwood — are 1950s–60s brick ranches with plaster on rock lath. The custom homes in Town & Country and out toward Ladue have smooth, level-5 walls and tall ceilings. Wildwood and newer Chesterfield are modern drywall. And the Chesterfield Valley floods. We handle all of it — and we know which one we’re walking into before we open the truck.

Why West County walls crack — and stay cracked if done wrong
Two things drive it. The whole metro sits on heavy clay that swells in spring and shrinks in the August heat, so houses flex a hair every season and open seams above doors and along ceilings. And in the older inner-ring homes, the plaster has simply pulled away from its lath over sixty-plus years. A drywall crack and a plaster crack look similar and are repaired completely differently — mudding over loose plaster just guarantees it comes back. We fix each the right way: re-tape and float a drywall joint; re-anchor and skim a plaster wall. Then match the texture so the repair disappears.

We protect the floors, seal the doorways so dust stays put, do the repair, match your texture, then clean up and haul out the debris — you shouldn’t be able to tell we were there except for the wall that’s fixed.

My finished basement flooded — can you help?
Yes — this is one of our most common West County calls, especially around the Chesterfield Valley. We do flood cuts (removing the wet lower section of drywall), replace it, and finish paint-ready. Call as soon as it’s dry enough to work — the sooner wet drywall comes out, the lower the mold risk.
Can you match a smooth (level-5) wall?
Yes. Smooth finishes in the custom homes out here are the hardest to match because there’s no texture to hide a seam — it takes extra skim coats and careful sanding. It’s work we do regularly.
Do you repair old plaster, not just drywall?
Both. A lot of Creve Coeur, Kirkwood, and Olivette homes are plaster on rock lath, which needs re-anchoring and skimming rather than a drywall patch. Most crews only do drywall — we do both.
